Global Free Zones 2023 roku
Rok 2023 okazuje się być wyjątkowym czasem dla specjalnych stref ekonomicznych w Polsce. Tegoroczny ranking „Global Free Zones of the Year” opracowany przez analityków fDi Intelligence z grupy Financial Times wskazuje na silną pozycję polskich stref ekonomicznych jako atrakcyjny cel dla inwestorów zagranicznych.
Katowicka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna (KSSE) zajęła 1 miejsce w Europie i 4 miejsce na świecie, a Łódzka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna (ŁSSE) znalazła się na 2 pozycji w Europie oraz na 10 na świecie.
Warto zaznaczyć, że w pierwszej dziesiątce rankingu nie znalazły się żadne inne kraje europejskie. To dowodzi atrakcyjności Polski
w oczach inwestorów zagranicznych w tym regionie.
Po raz kolejny pierwsze miejsce w rankingu zajęła Dubajska DMCC, a za nim uplasowała się chińska pilotażowa strefa Guangxi.
W tegorocznej edycji rankingu widoczna jest dominacja stref ekonomicznych Zjednoczonych Emiratów Arabskich (UAE).
Najlepsze strefy dla MŚP w Europie
KSSE jest liderem w wielu obszarach. Oprócz tytułu najlepszej strefy dla dużych najemców w Europie, sędziowie uznali ją także
za czołową strefę w regionie dla małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw. Jednym z wiodących atutów KSSE jest akcelerator biznesu KSSENON, który oprócz nowoczesnych przestrzeni do wynajmu, obejmuje także tzw. centrum kompetencji – miejsce realizacji praktyk zawodowych oraz specjalistycznych szkoleń. KSSE prowadzi również programy mające na celu wzmocnienie potencjału europejskich MŚP w zakresie zrównoważonego rozwoju i cyfryzacji.
ŁSSE pełni funkcję inkubatora przedsiębiorczości dla małych i średnich firm. Strefa oferuje finansowanie do 80% kosztów szkolenia pracowników MŚP w zakresie kompetencji technicznych. W ciągu ostatnich sześciu lat około 4 000 MŚP z regionu skorzystało
z tej możliwości, szkoląc 13 000 pracowników.
Ponadto, ŁSSE realizuje projekt Rethink Digital Hub, oferując MŚP doradztwo i usługi w zakresie sztucznej inteligencji (AI), robotyki
i automatyki, w tym internetu rzeczy (IoT) i sieci 5G, wirtualnej i rozszerzonej rzeczywistości (VR/AR) czy cyberbezpieczeństwa. Istnieją także możliwości finansowania i mentoringu poprzez wszechstronną sieć inwestorów i najemców ŁSSE, a także program akceleracji, który przez ostatnie 12 miesięcy wsparł 20 zagranicznych startupów.
Wynik Polski w międzynarodowym rankingu specjalnych stref ekonomicznych potwierdza jej atrakcyjność z perspektywy zagranicznych inwestorów oraz rosnące znaczenie tych stref w globalnej gospodarce.
O rankingu
Ranking Global Free Zones of the Year jest jednym z najbardziej prestiżowych wyróżnień dla stref ekonomicznych. W tegorocznym konkursie wyłonionych zostało 69 kandydatów z całego świata, którzy zostali poddani wnikliwej analizie według zaktualizowanego
w tym roku i bardziej wymagającego zestawu kryteriów.

at the top of the Global Free Zones 2023 ranking
The year 2023 is proving to be an exceptional time for Poland’s special economic zones. This year’s „Global Free Zones of the Year” ranking, prepared by Financial Times analysts fDi Intelligence, shows the strong position of Polish SEZs (Special Economic Zones)
as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
The Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) was ranked 1st in Europe and 4th globally, while the Łódź Special Economic Zone (ŁSEZ) was ranked 2nd in Europe and 10th globally.
It is worth noting that no other European countries made it into the top ten of the ranking. This demonstrates Poland’s attractiveness
in the eyes of foreign investors in the region.
Once again, the first place in the ranking was taken by Dubai DMCC, followed by China’s Guangxi pilot zone. In this year’s ranking,
the dominance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) economic zones becomes apparent.
Best zones for SMEs in Europe
The KSEZ is a leader in many areas. Alongside the title of the best zone for large leaseholders in Europe, the judges also recognised
it as the leading zone in the region for small and medium-sized enterprises. One of the KSEZ’s key strengths is the KSSENON business accelerator, which, in addition to modern rental space, also includes a so-called competence centre – a place for apprenticeships
and specialised trainings. The KSEZ also runs programmes aimed at strengthening the potential of European SMEs in terms
of sustainable development and digitalisation.
The LSEZ operates as a business incubator for small and medium-sized companies. The zone offers funding of up to 80% of the cost
of training SME employees in technical skills. Over the past six years, around 4,000 SMEs in the region have benefited
from this opportunity, having trained 13,000 employees.
In addition, the LSEZ runs the Rethink Digital Hub project, offering SMEs advice and services in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics
and automation, including the Internet of things (IoT) and 5G networks, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) or cyber security.
There are also opportunities for funding and mentoring through the SEZ’s comprehensive network of investors and leaseholders,
as well as an accelerator programme that has supported 20 foreign startups over the past 12 months.
Poland’s score in the international ranking of special economic zones attests to its attractiveness from the perspective of foreign investors and the growing importance of these zones in the global economy.

The Global Free Zones of the Year ranking is one of the most prestigious awards for economic zones. This year’s competition selected 69 candidates from around the world, which were subjected to in-depth analysis according to a revised and more demanding
set of criteria updated this year.
