Grow Through Strategic Acquisition Smoothly

An acquisition that enables Mauffrey to extend its geographical presence and consolidate its position in the specialized transport market.

Following on from its first acquisition in Italy in February 2024, the Mauffrey Group announces its first acquisition in Spain, enabling it to extend its geographical presence and consolidate its position in the specialized transport market.

Transport organizer Groupe Mauffrey has completed the acquisition of Spanish company Global Feed Ecotrans, which specializes mainly in the transport of animal nutrition, but also in the transport of general cargo, cereals and live animals.

Since its foundation in 1964, the Mauffrey Group has embodied a family business and a leading European player in the transport sector. Offering a comprehensive range of services, Mauffrey stands out for its ability to provide added value to its customers at every stage of the transport process.

A specialist in bulk transport, the group operates across a wide range of sectors. In particular, the group is developing its know-how in the transport of agricultural products, including animal feed, cereals and milk collection. Thanks to tailor-made solutions and modern equipment, it ensures the preservation and safety of the goods transported.

∕ Global Feed Ecotrans was born in 2013 from the merger of two family-owned transport companies, Transportes Ojechar and Traginers del Vendrell. The company has established itself as a leader in the transport of animal feed, raw materials for this industry. Global Feed Ecotrans ensures a close proximity to its customers, while developing part of its business beyond national borders. Its strong integration in the logistics management of their customers’ flows, both upstream and downstream of animal feed manufacturing, testifies to the quality of its support and its ability to adapt to the specific needs of its partners.

With the acquisition of Global Feed Ecotrans, the Mauffrey Group significantly strengthens its position in the agricultural sector on a European scale. By integrating this key player in animal feed transport, Mauffrey broadens its expertise and establishes itself for the first time in Spain, a strategic market where Global Feed Ecotrans has forged solid links with leading customers.

This merger enables the Mauffrey Group to add more than 300 transport units to its fleet, including silos, tankers for animal nutrition, as well as forwarders, tippers and bagged semi-trailers, thus reinforcing its logistical capacities and responsiveness in the field.

This acquisition also includes the integration of 350 new employees, split between drivers and support functions. This addition significantly enriches the Group’s human expertise.

With sales of €63 million in 2023, Global Feed Ecotrans brings not only specialized skills, but also a strong commitment to social responsibility, with 80% of its fleet powered by gas and an ambitious goal to accelerate the transition to electric. This commitment to decarbonizing their fleet is fully in line with the Mauffrey Group’s objective of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030.

This operation is fully in line with the Mauffrey Group’s strategy of expansion in Europe, affirming its position as a benchmark in specialized transport, particularly in the agricultural sector. By acquiring a company recognized for its expertise and sharing family values and high standards, the Mauffrey Group is consolidating its growth while reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and innovative transport practices.
