Key Points

Grow Through Strategic Acquisition Smoothly

A strategic acquisition expanding CLS’s geospatial solutions in service of the planet

  • CLS, a leading provider of innovative satellite services, has acquired NGIS, an Australian specialist in geospatial solutions applied to sustainable resource management, territorial resilience and supply chain transparency.
  • Founded in 1986, CLS is a French company designing and deploying space-based solutions to understand, protect, and monitor the planet’s resources. The company focuses on five strategic sectors: Environmental and climate monitoring, Sustainable fisheries management, Maritime security, Mobility, and Energy and infrastructure. With 35 sites worldwide, CLS employs 1,100 people and generated revenue of nearly €220 million in 2025. CLS is a subsidiary of CNES (French Space Agency) and the investment company CNP.

  • Founded more than 30 years ago, NGIS is now recognised as one of Australia’s leading providers of advanced geospatial solutions. From its 7 offices in the world, its 110 employees develop innovative solutions every day. NGIS is the creator of TraceMarkTM, a platform that enables end-to-end traceability of commodities such as timber, cocoa and coffee, from producer to consumer, while complying with the most demanding regulatory requirements. Committed to delivering positive impact, NGIS promotes diversity and takes concrete action in support of Indigenous Australian communities. Today, NGIS continues to innovate, driven by the conviction that technology can truly change the game for the planet.

  • This acquisition positions NGIS as a strategic accelerator of CLS’s development, strengthening both its geographic footprint in Australia—where it becomes the Group’s second subsidiary after CLS Oceania and its portfolio of solutions dedicated to sustainability, resilience and responsible performance.

  • NGIS brings CLS complementary and highly differentiating expertise in:
    • advanced geospatial modelling,
    • the exploitation of complex spatial and environmental data,
    • the development of high value-added digital platforms,
    • the integration of GIS, cloud, AI and analytics technologies,

    • the deployment of operational solutions for public authorities and large international groups.

  • The integration of NGIS strengthens CLS’s ability to support companies and public authorities in addressing climate and operational challenges, as well as new international regulatory requirements (such as the European and international regulatory frameworks, including the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)) by transforming spatial and environmental data into operational intelligence that is measurable and directly actionable.
