/ The KSA's Market in a few words
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has established itself as a magnet for international companies. Located at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and Asia, the country occupies a strategic position in the heart of the Middle East, with dual maritime access to the Red Sea to the west and the Arabian Gulf to the east, two hubs of global trade.
With an area of more than 2.15 million km², the Kingdom is the largest country in the Gulf, and is undergoing significant economic liberalization, driven by ambitious reforms and a desire to fully integrate into the global economy.
Under the impetus of the Vision 2030 program, Saudi Arabia aims to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil, of which it remains the world’s leading exporter. Through this strategic plan, the country is modernizing its infrastructure, developing new smart cities, investing in tourism, high-end leisure activities, and cutting-edge technologies, while stimulating innovation and sustainability.
Saudi Arabia’s main industries are as follows:
- Oil and gas remain the backbone of the Saudi economy, accounting for around 22% of national GDP. The country is the world’s leading exporter of crude oil and home to Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company in terms of production. The Kingdom is now directing its investments towards energy transformation, particularly through the development of green hydrogen and carbon emission reduction technologies.
- Renewable energy and energy transition are central to Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia aims to generate 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Several flagship projects are already underway, such as the Neom Green.
- Hydrogen Project, the Sudair Solar Plant, and the Sakaka Solar Power Plant. These initiatives position the Kingdom as a key player in the global energy transition.
- Tourism and hospitality are another major pillar of economic diversification. Saudi Arabia aims to welcome more than 70 million international visitors per year by 2030 by developing world-class tourism infrastructure. Flagship projects include Red Sea Global, AlUla, Diriyah Gate, and Qiddiya. These projects aim to position the country as a must-see tourist, cultural, and economic destination in the Middle East.
