Created in 1973, this innovative family business manufactures and distributes flexible composite materials using a special technology: the précontraint®. This technology provides unique properties to membranes: resistance, dimensional stability and weightlessness, noise protection and resistance to light and UV.
These materials are used by diverse industries and professionals for many different applications and can be classified into three main sectors: innovative materials for architecture (tensile architecture, bioclimatic facades, solar protection and acoustic solutions), advanced materials for professionals (modular structures, agro-energy and environmental protection), as well as design and outdoor materials for consumers (canvas for boats and sun protection, indoor and outdoor furniture, awnings and canopies).

At Serge Ferrari, 75% of the turnover originates from its export activities. Appreciated by architects, designers, and research agencies since its creation, the group never ceases to innovate and grow. Various global markets are fond of these unique technologies and Serge Ferrari seeks to constantly raise the bar and meet the needs of each new markets.
The firm is currently operating worldwide through four distribution subsidiaries (Spain, China, Turkey and Dubai), five commercial offices (USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil and India) and over one hundred distributors. Currently, there are opportunities in the fast growing markets of India and Australia.
Altios and Serge Ferrari: A Long-Standing Partnership
The Serge Ferrari Group has had international development needs very early on and has now been working with Altios for over 16 years. Achievable Objectives Due to International Growth
In 2015, the group’s turnover was 148 million euros with an objective of reaching 215 million euros in 2018. An ambitious objective, however achievable due to of the acceleration of the group’s international activities.
To do this, several actions have been defined. The first step: recruiting sales representatives. Serge Ferrari will thus increase from 80 to 160 sales representatives abroad before 2018.
The company is also currently working on a project to increase its production capabilities involving the construction of additional manufacturing systems and ensuring the development of its innovation centre. To ensure everything goes smoothly, additional subsidiaries will be created.
