We are recruiting an Export Area Manager for one of our clients, a leading Italian company in the spirits industry, renowned for the quality of its portfolio and its iconic brands.
The Export Area Manager will be responsible for managing and developing international markets, ensuring the growth of sales and brand presence of the company’s alcoholic beverage portfolio. This role involves building strong relationships with distributors, negotiating contracts, and implementing strategic sales initiatives to increase market share and revenue.
Missions
Market Development & Sales Growth
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the brand’s presence in international markets.
- Identify and establish relationships with new distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and profitability objectives in assigned regions.
Distributor & Customer Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing distributors, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
- Provide training and support to partners on product knowledge, brand positioning, and sales techniques.
- Monitor distributor performance, ensuring sales goals and brand positioning are met.
- Handle contract negotiations, pricing policies, and promotional activities.
Brand Positioning & Marketing Support
- Ensure brand consistency across all markets in line with the company’s global strategy.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop localized campaigns and promotional activities.
- Attend international trade fairs, industry events, and customer meetings to promote the brand.
Logistics & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth export operations.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and local market legal requirements.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market insights for senior management.
- Use data-driven analysis to refine strategies and improve market performance.
- Provide feedback on product demand, pricing, and competitive positioning.
Profile
- Experience: 5-10 years in export sales, in the alcoholic beverage industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of alcoholic beverage distribution channels, regulatory frameworks, and key markets.
- Sales & Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to develop partnerships, negotiate contracts, and drive sales growth.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Italian) are a plus.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel frequently to assigned regions (50%+ travel).
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret market data, create strategic sales plans, and make informed decisions.
- Cultural Awareness: Experience working with international clients and understanding diverse market needs.
